About Amanda Klausmeier
Strategic design leader with 15+ years of experience spanning federal government, healthcare, startups, and Fortune 500 organizations. Currently leading design strategy at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, supporting clinical software used by 48,000+ providers caring for more than 6 million Veterans. Throughout my career, I've built expertise across product design, user experience, branding, and design strategy, helping organizations solve complex challenges in highly regulated and mission-critical environments.
My work has increasingly focused on service design and systems-level thinking — connecting product experiences to the broader services, processes, and organizational systems that shape outcomes. I enjoy bringing clarity to complexity, aligning cross-functional teams around shared goals, and identifying opportunities to reduce friction for both the people receiving services and the employees delivering them.
I'm most energized by mission-driven work where thoughtful design can improve people's lives at scale. Whether leading strategy across multiple teams, shaping future-state service experiences, or influencing organizational direction, I bring a human-centered approach grounded in empathy, rigor, and systems thinking.
